Wasn't a bad job at all, just had to unbolt my throttle bodies, my intake tubing and three bolts holding it in.

New and old. Got the new one from Advanced for $143 after discount and tax. Pelican wanted more than $200 for it.

Everyone said that was really time consuming. How long did it take you? I need a new one too (huge surprise)

Including cleaning the engine bay, air filter and driving across town to get the part, about 3 hours. It would have been quicker had I bought the part first instead of mid-way through the job.

That's... really good. I should do this. My only hurdle is the cash for the part. And the other few projects that are more important than fixing the idle...

When this goes kaput, you can't drive it. What else would you consider, "urgent" that you need done? Just curious, because I might have already done it.

It's been bad since I bought the car, but got worse last year. About 75% of the time, the idle doesn't drop low enough to kill the engine, but I always keep my foot ready to blip the throttle just in case. Some mornings I have to give it a little throttle at all times if it's not in gear. But when I bought it the idle was a little rough, and it hasn't gone kaput yet.

Other urgencies are the broken RF strut, the fuel leak on injectors 5 and 6 (or perhaps 1 and 2) and the ignition wiring. The wiring is double trouble, because if the engine dies (because of the ICV) I have to hotwire it really quickly. Which I can do, but it takes a few seconds longer than I'd like. Also since there's a phantom power drain issue sometimes, I might actually have to get out and jump it. So I don't let it die.

Well, he did have that stalling issue and was running a bit lean...
